完成された大作も、こういった細部のこだわりの積み重ねだと思う。

筋彫りのえが普通に良い作品でも大半が「凄い?」というインパクトを残せない理由はこれに尽きるだろう。先生やその他凄い作品を残している彫師は、細部のこだわりがすごいのだ。

影の付け方、鱗の埋め方、着物の柄等々に一切の妥協がない。もちろんセンスが有ることは言うまでもないが。

彫り終わると、

「目が凄いね、これで睨まれたら何でも喋っちゃうよ」

おお、やっぱり厳ついな。閻魔の気持ちがこもった表情だ。

今回は比較的痛くなかったが、彫り終えた後の痛みは平等に襲ってき、背中を燃やしながら帰路につく。
